Nightlife in Scotland

Scotland is well known for many things and its nightlife is a chief draw for many tourists, as ample clubs and plenty of visitors looking for a great time provides the perfect recipe for a great night out on the town.

The Bongo Club
You'll find drum and bass, hip hop, electronica, funk and soul, house, disco and the occasional live gig at The Bongo Club. Club nights are regular and various different clubs run at this venue so always make sure to check the calendar to see what's on before visiting. The club is situated a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the Grassmarket and Cowgate close to the Scottish Parliament . The main space is a decent size with a stage for gigs and there's an additional bar and dance floor upstairs.

Opal Lounge
If you want a sense of the so-called 'style bar,' then this is an excellent example of the genre. The Opal draws a predominantly young, well-dressed, and affluent crowd, combining a long list of cocktails with a Tardis-like underground space that has several compartments around a central room, which eventually becomes the dance floor. Drinks are served from noon to 3am daily.

Lulu Club
Georgian elegance meets 21st century opulence, with more than a hint of decadence. Sound-responsive disco lighting under the dance floor, Swarovski Crystals embedded in the walls. Comfortably exclusive, but ever so slightly saucy. Welcome to the wonderful world Lulu, Edinburgh’s most lavish late night destination, tucked beneath Tigerlily. At Lulu, they will offering a luxury night club experience that will ensure an unforgettable night for you and your guests.

The Jazz Bar
Edinburgh's coolest, triple award-winning, live music venue features independent Fringe shows all day long, plus its own great music programme every night. You’ll hear high-quality jazz, funk/soul, classical, acoustic, indie and cabaret, with stage action and great bar service 1pm-5am daily!

Bon Accord
This amiable pub, just west of the city center, is among the best in the city for cask-conditioned real ale. There's an array of hand-pumps - a dozen devoted to English and Scottish ales - while the rest of the draft and bottled beers and stouts hail from around Europe. The pub is likely to satisfy your taste in malt whiskey, as well, and offers pub food.
